My sword plant that I got the other day has "baby" growing from it (see picture). This is my first experience with live aquarium plants -- so I don't know what to do with it! Do I bend the shoot its attached to down and bury the roots in the gravel? Do I cut it away from the shoot and plant it? Or do I just let it float there?

Cut the runner near the mother plant and then again near the baby. Then carefully plant the baby. It may help to add a fertilizer tablet to the gravel next to baby to give it a helping hand ;)

What I did was bend the runner into the substrate and after a few weeks, the runner fell off and it was all on its own. Dont cut it off as it may be getting nutrients from the "Mother plant"
