pond outside for guppys

Yeah thanks everything is set up just need to cycle and sponge filter but do you think I could get fish before I got the sponge filter or get sponge filter first.
Outdoors is a bit different than indoors. They'd be okay when you still don't have a filter in it. An outdoor environment for guppies is more natural. A biological balance is way faster established outdoors than indoors. That's a fact. To be honest, all of my outdoor tanks and tubs don't have a filter system nor a heater. It's important that the wind can touch the water surface to get more oxygen in.

Yeah do you think I would need an air pump when I put the guppy’s in or can it be a bit after

Next year we may have a TOTM contest just for ponds. You could enter your pond in the contest.
i am excited for that!

i'd start to do it before adding fish because that way you can sort out the flow and things like that
a bit after you add them won't hurt either though

Well to be honest, it won't hurt if you'd put the aeration in later. But it won't also hurt if there's no aerator present unless it's getting very hot. In the past 37 years that I'm keeping fish (mainly livebearers) outdoors during the better months of the year, I've never used an aeration in those outdoor tanks and tubs. Only in a paddle pol, I've used once an aeration but that was because of the long and extreme heatwaves we had. For our backyard is on the south and the sun was shining almost all day overthere. And a short period in one of the tubs on the balcony when the trumpet vine wasn't large enough yet to give it more shade. But that was all...
