Why does my tetra have black on its eyes I just bought and I think I got played

It’s a color variation of the x-ray/pristella tetra (Pristella maxillaris. And yes I had to look the scientific name up)
 
The body looks inflamed
his gills might look a little bit red because its so small.
give it some good care and it'll grow up

yeah some already have a bit of black on their eyes, maybe that one just has a lot

I looked it up, the black eye/red belly is a color variant. Look up ‘red belly x-ray tetra’. Just a different look to the x-ray, like albino.
 
It has black eyes for the same reason I have brown ones. Genetics.

It's a selected, fancy for of Pristella - not as nice as the real thing, but very nice as is.

I don’t know how rare they are. I ended getting one in a group I bought a year or two ago. It’s black eyes kinda creeped me out. But where I’m at it’s the only one I’d ever seen.
