They were little 3" fish about three years ago. The small one is progeny. This aquarium is in my backyard. It has a fake rock background and for 2" past that I put in Syngonium cuttings and they help filter the water. The ferns and mosses all are naturalized. Nature put them there not me.

How often do you feed and water change them?

I would love to have ferns naturally self seeding and growing here. All I get is weeds, but even they are better than the concrete and grey pavers we have everywhere.

Shady ponds are great habitat for lush greenery where water splatters. When you use a lava type rock even better odds as they provide great sponge like capacity to hold water and add nutrients to boot.

I feed them every other day. I change water as needed. It has an undergravel filter and when the gravel starts to clog..its stir and siphon out time. Every other month all year.

Sometimes in winter I think of taking it all down..but summer brings back the fun of Goldfish.
