Hello everyone, what should be the water hardness for mollies? I think i have a hardness of 125 or 200 ppm. Is that good for mollies? also please interpret my test strip result, it is the third one on the strip.

I tested water in a number of molly habitats, in Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. It generally ranged around 280ppm.

That was for natural species in the molly group - Poecilia orri, mexicana and maybe salvatoris (not sure). How the hybrids we buy in store react could be another question. I bred pet store mollies with ease at 140 ppm.

Well I have gold panda mollies, and also what is the reading on my test strip?

Also here is a retest. Is this 250? Or 200-250 ppm?

You're going to need someone with better eyes than me....

But Poecilia latipinna mollies are native to Fla, and most Florida water is hard enough for them.

Idk why I thought that they lived in ultra hard water. My bad :)
Oh. You weren’t sure yourself? Thats fine. Also this is a retest of my gh. How much is this?
