Hi all,

The following bristlenose was sold to me as a Super Red. I thought that it potentially looked calico? What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

One of my male BN's was meant to be super red.....he isn't...he is a beautiful mottled pink & orange with big red eyes.

He isn't the right colour but he makes up for it in his character and naughtiness....digging holes being his speciality

Yours has lovely markings

:)

Awe he sounds great! Would you consider yours to be calico then? 😀
Mine is just a big colourful boy...he is healthy and active and very frisky, that is all that matters to me. Health comes before colouration tbh.

I couldn’t agree more, although he/she is only young, I have no concerns regarding health and this just happens to be the colouration that they had in my LFS, so that’s what I bought. As he/she has gotten bigger, I noticed the black colouration more and just woundered what he/she would be considered. I doubt he/she is even 3 inches yet.

Offspring from he/she will be an interesting colour.....whether they take the light or dark or a mixture.

Nice little BN.

Doesn’t seem mottled enough to be a Calico. Or red enough to be a Super Red.

I would just go with a pretty BNP. :)
