Big problems in Rio land

Thinking of putting them in this during the change over.

Fish are too big for any plastic tubs i have and ill hook my cainsters up to keep them ticking over also.
Now I am always over cautious over where I put fish supplies yet alone the fish its self... This is where I become a germ phobe for my fish... Wouldn't there be soap residue and chemical residues on the sides of the tub which can go into the water and kill your fish?? This is what I would think of if I had to move my fish into a tub (if I had that many fish). What do you use as soap for yourself and what do you wash the tub with when you clean it? I just don't want you to put your fish in the tub where there could be soap/chemical residues and then they die... Just a thought is all

The beer on the side is called Corona...that should do the trick ;)

Its a jacuzzi so its just filled with water and you turn the jets on to relax. No soap or chemicals used in it.

The internal pipes get cleaned inside but we rarely use it now to be honest so thats not been done for a good while. I use it to sink my driftwood more than anything else now lol

But dont you clean it?? I mean to clean it you usually use something to disinfect something... But maybe you dont clean it?...

Yes tbf back in the day when i used it as a jacuzzi we cleaned it but i only use a lite white vinegar/water solution now i use it for fish maintance.

Luckily we have a Jacuzzi bath upstairs whats quicker to run then the big one so we use that instead so i know its been chemical free for a long time.

Ah ok! It seems like its clean enough then... I just got worried for a little there lol

Right ive been looking at the tank design a little more this morning durning maintance and im now thinking of considering doing option 2.

Hear me out lol...

Juwels design as a moulding whats a whole unit what fits over the glass from the top. 20220424_115943.jpg20220424_120006.jpgNo spilts just 1 whole unit.
20220424_115724.jpg
So the glass is incased in the moulding by 3 and a half cm inside the frame
20220424_115817.jpg

And 8cm all round the outside.
It then as the 2 brace bars moulded in the frame. Top of the braces are attached to the moulding
20220424_120036.jpg
then the bottoms are glued to pads stuck to the glass.

Now i think they was never glued durning being made and just pulled away once the tank got filled up.

If i get some f clamps and glue the 2 sections what are loose it should solve the issue.

Can always fall back on option 3 it im not happy still

:dunno:

No

Absolutely not

You can bet your life that if you do that and it still fails that they will turn around and say "sorry but you invalidated the warranty, no claim allowed"

It is yet another trapdoor that they try to lull customers into doing so that they can rip up or reword the warranty and make it null and void.

You want a replacement, no if's, no but's, no maybe's.

Thats absolutely true. Once you have messed with it then they do have all riggts to say they cant honor the warranty... Its sad but true. So just get rhe replacement

When I bought my Rio in around 2006, even removing the internal filter invalidated the warranty........
Thats one reason i was considering option 2.

Luckily their not replacing the whole tank just the shell (no light, filter etc)

I noticed you said that earlier. It does imply that removing the filter doesn't affect the warranty nowadays.
