So around a month ago I decided when setting up my tank I would try grow a carpet of utricularia graminifolia from what I was watching and reading didn't sound like a massive challenge.. seems I was wrong I did read that people had had trouble growing it in aqua soil because of the nutrition in the soil which is what I'm using first couple of weeks all was OK started to see some growth now within the last 5 days or so a black sticky hair alge has destroyed 20% of it anyone have any advice?

Thanks matty

mostly hair algae comes off in one piece.

i think its the unblance of fertilisers and light that causes algae? idk
