I have just purchased a Love Fish Panorama 64L aquarium which I am just setting up. I have a switch, which is connected to the lighting unit underneath, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone have any idea what this does please?

I would guess that the light switches would be for an option of daylight or blue/moonlight setting should you wish to upgrade the lighting from the standard supplied white/daylight

The hatch on the other side looks like an access panel to make the lighting upgrade or a feed hatch.

Just had a quick look at the reviews for this aquarium, now obviously reviews should be taken with a pinch of salt, but there do seem to be more than a few cases of small fish being caught in the filter. That might be something to be aware of perhaps when choosing stock.

I was intrigued so I had a look!
The tank is basically a badged Interpet brand tank. See the link below and click on 'manual'.
The button is basically a timer - you press the button and 28 days later it flashes red to remind you to change the filter cartridge! Who knew?🤔

That timer is all well and good except you shouldn't be changing the media after only 28 days...but then if you didn't, the company wouldn't get more money out of you would they? ;)

Yes...I am cynical of these gimmicks ;)

I use sponges as the media in my filters. I DO rinse the media in used tank water every 20 to 30 days so timer would be useful. The apple reminder app would work just as good ;)

Thank you all for your replies. I have a Fluval U2 filter to use with this aquarium so that button will be obsolete in my case. I originally thought it may be a timer switch for the LED's. How wrong was I? I know this is a re-branded version of the Interpet Fish Pod 64 and have just upgraded the single LED light with a Interpet Insight triple LED lighting unit. A straightforward upgrade and much better. Thanks again for the advice.
