My female guppy has been this big for over 3 weeks now. She hasn't darkened on her backside and is still smooth scaled.. is she pregnant? I have constantly breeding guppies and she is just for some reason huge and has been for almost 4 weeks now..

Are you sure it's female? It looks male to me from the anal fin...I would treat for worms if you haven't already

Looks like a male to me. It could have an internal problem.

You guys really think its a male? It is the same size as all my big females and all my males are quite small, skinny and very colourful whereas shes had the fuller body all along. She has the full body and coloured fins ony making me thing shes a female.. i could be wrong though, only been into this for a yr or so. So do you think treat for worms? I have mystery snails and my baby fry in with her/him will this affect them?

It's the shape of the anal fin which looks male - a rod shape rather than a fan shape.

How long did the fish take to get fat like that?
If it was quick (within a week or two), then it could have a cyst in its body.
If it took a couple of months to get that fat, then it oculd be intestinal worms or a tumour.

I would start with deworming the fish and see how things go after that.

Section 3 of the following link has information about treating fish for intestinal worms.

Thanks for that. He/she unfortunately got picked on so much and got eaten by the other fish i had in with it. :( it was rather quick it getting fat, probably a cyst. Thanks for your help. If he/she was hurting he/shes not anymore.
