Good evening, hope all is well. I'm brand new to the Forum and excited to look around!

My Question: What's the latest and greatest for Freshwater Aquarium Lighting?

I'm looking to replace these old fluorescent lights and I'd like to see what you all recommend. They can be direct replacement or a completely different style. I'm interested in seeing what's available nowadays.

Thanks in advance for the help.

In the UK there are two brands of retrofit LED tube (Aquael and Superfish). These are shaped like fluorescent tubes and have plastic sleeves over the ends to enable them to slot into the fluorescent lamp holders to support them, though that have their own mains cable. The advantage is that you can use the original tank hood.
Is there anything like this available in the US?

Welcome to TFF!

Your hoods look in nice shape and changing them out would possibly require buying new tops, especially in a kitchen area (to keep out smoke, grease, even cleaning solution particles). As suggested above, if you wanted to keep the hoods search for retrofit LED tubes. Another option, if you are more adventurous, would be to remove the fluorescent hardware (if needed) in the hood and mount an LED strip inside each one.
