Any idea what this is? Parasite?

Looks like some sort of rupture or prolapse, with fungus...or perhaps a tumor

If it looks like a bristle from a child's paintbrush, it sounds like camallanus worms. Look for eSHa ndx, which kills round worms. If one fish is infected the whole tank will be, so you need to treat the whole tank.

I think thats what it is, i had a similiar parasite nearly a year ago. No idea how it go in my tank unless it can come in on live plants (bought some about 3 days ago).

How long ago did you buy the last fish?

I suppose it's possible that the last fish addition brought worms into the tank, and it's taken 6 months for the rest of the fish to show symptoms.
Have any of the fish ever passed white stringy poop?

Not at all until a few days ago. Anyway im treating them with praziquantel, i think that should do the job as its what i used before to get rid of them.

Although ive noticed a number of fish with worms coming out of them still so im not sure if its working. If after the treatment they come back, anything i could do?

There are two types of worm which infect fish - flat worms such as tape worms and round worms such as camallanus worms. Different meds kill different types.
Praziquantel kills only flat worms, so when treatment with that is complete you need to treat with levamisole as well to kill any round worms. I know that eSHa ndx contains levamisole.

[Flubendazole kills both types of worm, but it also kills inverts such as shrimps and snails.]

Oh well in that case i can try Flubendazole after i finish the Praziquantel I’ll put my snail in a temporary tank (unless he could have worms as well?)

You'll need to remove every trace of flubendazole before putting the snail back. I do this by running several batches of carbon in the filter, then PolyFilter

Thanks will do.

Not sure what it is, but the original neon tetra that had the cloudy poop had it fall off, however alongside having a red worm coming out of its anus hes developed a white mouth. Is this a secondary infection?
