Sea driftwood

Hi folks,

Any particular method to prepare driftwood whats been found on the beach to go in a fresh water set up?

Is a good wash down and a soak for a while enough?

i'd boil and soak it, maybe test the water to see if the salinity is rising?

Im not normal a fan of boiling wood tbh because it breaks the wood down quicker. Its too big to fit in a pan also lol.

I could get it in the bath with hot water if i needed too i suppose.

@itiwhetu this is the driftwood i was speaking of. Its not normal thick wood

Think washing it down then soaking will do the job

I don't know, I'm landlocked where I live, but It's worth a try at least.
