Let's take another trip to the Amazon River in South America tropical fish keepers! LIVE tonight at 10:30 PM ET/ 7:30 PM PT, it's the fifth installment of Life In The Amazon on Aqua Alex LIVE on my YouTube channel The Legendary Alex Cardinale! I will be continuing with part 2 of the most popular aquarium fish that come from South America and the Amazon River. Today's species are medium to large growing fish that are perfect for aquariums above 55 gallon all the way up to 500 gallons. A majority of the species I discuss tonight will have MY own pictures and possible videos as I currently own these species or have in the past .
Species that will be discussed include Severum Cichlids, Uaru Cichlids, Chocolate Cichlids, Redhook Silver Dollars, Black Bar Silver Dollars, Vulture catfish and more!! Find out some interesting information on these species.

This was an AWESOME trip to the Amazon in South America! I enjoyed discussing some more popular aquarium fish that live in South America. Some of the species discussed tonight include Severum Cichlids, Chocolate cichlids, uaru cichlids, redhook and black bar myleus silver dollars, royal plecos, and more!
All the photos with the exception of the piranhas are fish I owned and took pictures off! Some are current fish and the others are fish I had in the past.

I had a BLAST discussing the golden trahira aka gold wolf fish! The gold wolf fish is one of my favorite South American predatory characins! I started the video showing off my gold wolf fish with a current video showing off his growth as well as some images of him. I gave out some awesome did you know facts on the gold wolf fish. I also gave out some good information on how to keep this awesome fish including how big they get, recommended tank size, and more!!!

Check out my awesome unboxing that I did last week! Last week I ordered from Aquatic Rarities aka Malone's Monsters! Bob is an amazing aquarium hobbyist and he loves tropical fish. He carries all sorts of unique freshwater aquarium fish from community fish to monster fish. I picked up some awesome colored Myleus Schomburgkii and a red hook silver dollar, a pink tail chalceus, a lima shovelnose catfish and a striped gar characin. All the fish are doing great a week later except for the striped gar characin. He freaked out during a water change and banged his head in the glass and shortly after passed.

This species is wolf fish is the one that I have wanted for many years after seeing them in person as a teenager. I will be talking about the Black Wolf Fish aka Hoplias Curupira! The Black Wolf Fish is one of the only Hoplias species that is more suited for the home aquarium compared to the Common Wolf fish and the Aimara wolf fish because it stays smaller and is a little less aggressive. I was lucky to get my first Black Wolf fish earlier this year and I love him he has quickly become a favorite fish of mine. On this species profile, I discussed the Black Wolf Fish (Hoplias Curupira) which is my ultimate favorite wolf fish! The Black Wolf Fish was a dream fish that I never thought I'd get to own! But I am lucky to be raising one now! I started the broadcast by showing a video and pictures of my personal Black Wolf fish in my collection! I gave out some interesting facts on the black wolf fish including the mythical creature the black wolf fish is named after. I also discussed my thoughts on caring for and keeping this fish in the aquarium hobby. I discussed my personal experiences in having tankmates with black wolf fish.
