So a friend got me this little fishy from our LFS as a late Christmas gift she said they told her this was the only male guppy they had left. She brings with the gift as a surprise So I looked at it and was confused because it doesn’t look like a male guppy and it looks pregnant?

Female from the looks of it. Males have a long, straight and thin fin called a gonopodium, wheras females have a more rounded anal fin.

Hope this helps.

Is this fish a guppy? The tail is what kinda got me confused too. It’s not like other guppies tails I’ve seen it has a tail shaped like a tetra

Yep, definitely a guppy. I've had some with kind of lack-luster fins, might grow fuller but it'll probably just stay like that. Nothing to worry about!

prob wcmm there was a person on this forum who breeded them so it is possible that they are also easy to breed like guppies
i do want to breed them tho but cant find any
