When I went to feed the fish I’m house sitting for this morning, it was floating upside at the top of the tank once I switched the day light mode on. I gently motioned the water next to it so see if it was still alive and it bolted to the bottom of the tank where it still remains. The water is tested quite frequently and is in good condition apparently, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Can you do a water change on the tank?
Basically drain half the water out and refill it with tap water that has had a dechlorinator added to it. Do this each day for a week.

Make sure you use a clean bucket that hasn't had any chemicals in it. The owners might have a fish bucket they use for the tank.

Make sure you don't have any creams, disinfectant residue, or anything else on your hands when you do work on the tank or feed the fish.

-----------------
Is there a filter on the tank?
Make sure it is running.

Maybe post pictures or a short video of the filter. It might need a clean.

How often are you feeding the fish?

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m unable to upload a video but hopefully these pictures able to illustrate the filter enough

No idea about the filter

There looks like some uneaten food in the tank (3rd picture).
Uneaten food can cause water quality problems that will cause fish to die. The best solution is a big water change and try to remove the uneaten food.

Do you know if the owners have a gravel clean?
If they do, then use that to suck the gunk out of the gravel while you drain some water out.

The following link has a picture of a basic gravel cleaner.
