Hi, ive kept my 100L tank for over a year now and I’ve been wanting to get some more fish in it. In my area we have naturally neutral ph and I haven’t tested the kh or gh in a while so I have no idea those levels. I have 8 neon tetras that have been in there since the start and a few glass shrimp, they get along nicely and now i think it’s time for a bit of spice. I was thinking Pygmy Coreys and ember tetras, though I would love some ideas because there may be something better for my tank. Thank you for your time, here’s a photo of the tank.
I just moved the Anubis so that’s why the neons are shy.

I have Ember Tetras and I love them!
Both Ember Tetras and Pygmy Cories like to be in large groups of 10 or more. I guess you could possibly fit both, but if it were me I would just pick one group and then add a centerpiece fish. (As far as which centerpiece fish, I have no idea.)

Ok thank you, I’ll most likely go with the Pygmy Corey’s and possibly a dwarf goramy as I’ve had one previous and it caused no issues

Just let these guys breed, you will end up with big schools of both. Believe me, that will be really cool.

Sorry, but which fish are you talking about. A bigger school of neons would be nice and I’m already decided on more shrimp. Sorry if this seems rude at all.

Oh, yeah thatd look really nice, though I only have the space for about ten embers and 5-7 Pygmy’s. I’d love to have a bigger tank but I can’t really afford it.

Looking at the tank, aim to get 50% or more of the volume in plant. Plants are your friends in the aquarium.
That was my plan; get some more plants, let them grow out for a few months than get the fish. Is there any plants you’d recommend?

That is a nice aquascape, but unfortunately you have a gravel substrate which basically rules out cories, especially the pygmy species. These do need sand. Pin down the GH, this is more important for smaller fish. The water authority website may have this data, it is not going to alter much in the aquarium (unlike the pH which can shift).

Ok thank you, I was planning to redo the scape and get some wood into it. I’ll get my hands on some sand when I redo the whole thing, thank you for your help. :)
