So the husband wants to buy me a 3D tank background, sides, & fake rocks for the 125 G on order. I looked at AquaDecor first suggested by Wills months back & have a few questions into Dr. Emila Gavrila in Serbia. Serbia! I thought they were UK based since the price list is in €.

My major concern is what exactly do these products look like? Sure, they are spectacular online, but I have been greatly disappointed many times by items that look fantastic online & like junk IRL. There is no mention of paid-for samples at thier site. No way our

$1157 US dollars goes to Serbia unless I have an excellent idea of what will be shipped back.

Has anyone here seen them IRl? Does anyone know of US manufacturers who make similar products?

The hunt is on & I will let you know what Dr. G in Serbia says.

Aquadecor is in Serbia & looks like I mistook their monetary symbol to be a pound. I am not good at recognizing foreign currencies, only in spending US Greenbacks. And they aren’t getting any of mine until I see what their products look like.

i'm probably going to be ordering a background (if they don't try to double the price for a custom non-standard one) and rock mat from them
if you want to wait a month and a half or so

I've seen many youtube videos of their products, I don't think they're scammers if that's what you're worried about

I’m not saying the 3D company is a scam. I‘m saying I’m not about to drop a grand on a product I’ve never seen. My bank protects me from outright fraud, but if I were to say a product disappoints, they would tell me to sit on it.

I’d love to know your reaction, should you get one! 👍

Meanwhile, I’ll be searching the internet on AquaDecor. Has to be they have many buyers & I want to know if they’re overjoyed or otherwise.

thanks, I’ll look into Universal Rocks.

aquadecor will do custom backgrounds based on your specifications, that's what I'm trying to do now with my tank - I'll tell you the price once they get back to me so you can get an idea of how much more it will cost
as far as I understand they will send you pictures during the production of your background and you can ask to change things as they make it

Aquadecor responded to my email inquiry. $250 for a sample! I don‘t think so. Meanwhile I looked at Universal Rocks & surprisingly found other 3D manufacturers as well. I will try to post links later. I saw YourFishSuff has some, less expensive & not nearly as cool as AquaDecor’s. I like this NJ company & made several plant purchases from them. I ordered their smallest size, $40, and may cut it down to fit the 10 G betta tank. (Forgot dimensions)

It occurs to me these 3D panels may be a hassle to clean. I maintain pretty much algae free tanks by doing frequent interior sponge wipe downs. Can’t say i’m prepared to scrub mountainsides. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad during water changes. idk

aquadecor got back to me this morning and said my background (with both side panels and shipping price included) would cost 320 euros which is about 360 USD, so I think I'm definitely going to get a background from them

they also said that their rock mats have rocks over 8" so it would be unsuitable for my tank, so instead I'm going to get a few of their fake non-floating stones and ask for a custom size

in total it will probably end up costing about 450-500 USD

Thanks for letting us know. I have forgotten the dimensions of your tank. Can you please say again? Mine is 72” long, but it is not the price per se, but dropping a good grand or so on something sight unseen that gives me pause.

Any idea what the delivery time would be?

I can’t wait to see what you think!

my tank's interior dimensions are 46.5 x 22.75 x 8.75 inch

on their FAQ page on their website, it says 10-12 days to make the background and up to 2 weeks to deliver it (depending on location I suppose - since we're in the USA it will take longer than other countries in Europe)

I haven't ordered it yet but I plan to in the next week or so
