What is this? It’s on the tips of the green plastic plants.

bba = black beard algae

but it looks a bit like blue green algae (Cyanobacter bacteria).
Does it wipe off in a film and smell musty?
If yes, then it's blue green algae.

Hello,

I struggled with BBA, CITA-Cyanobacteri, and diatoms all at once. I dunked this decoration in hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes as required to kill BBA and cyano spores. However, my Cyano was neon green, and my BBA was dark purple. Could it be leftover dead spores accumulating onto the tops of the plastic plants? This is temporary decoration, btw, as the fish I have enjoys to sit at the top, resting himself inside the plants.

Also, I find this interesting. I recently bought a $180 Water Sterilizer to prevent algae growth, as it was getting very very bad. 0 algae has grown, and the tank is clear as day. This would be the first algae sighting. I put the decoration in around 4 days ago.
