I have been trying to do a bit of research about our fish, think they may be types of Rainbow fish but just wanted to confirm. Hopefully someone can help me.
Many thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Top fish is a Melanotaenia boesemani, possibly a female or young male, depending on how old and big the fish is. It if develops yellow or blue on the body, it's a boy.

Bottom fish is a Glossolepis incisus, probably a female but again could be a young male depending on age and size. If it develops any red it is a male. Females have no red and are silver when young and turn bronze when mature.

The following link has information about all the known Australian and New Guinea rainbowfish.

By the way welcome to TFF
