What’s a safe colored sand for aquariums?

What a brilliant idea for adding sand to a tank! Thank you!
It's also a handy method of adding a beach for Cories and other sand snuffling fish to snuffle in too cos you can use the upside down bottle to gently shift the gravel and then use the same bottle to put sand in randomly or to a specific shape

Again, simply brilliant!

My late dad had so many simple ways to do the often more troublesome tasks...saves buying loads of stuff that you rarely ever get to use (chopsticks for tweezers are great for Axie feeds, for example, and if a bit dodgy on the chopstick use, put an eleastic band around the top of both and they become instant tweezers ;) )

Chopsticks! Never was good with those. Now rubber bands & tweezers I do know. 😹😹😹

Black, tan, brown, and white are all OK to use. Will this be a planted tank?

You may not be able to have pure white sand, depending on the spices of fish you plan to have in the tank.

I was talking axotles, salamanders, a very pale pink. Not sure about plants yet, given the low light requirements of these guys.

Wow, I hit the wrong key & messed up this reply. Riding a stationary bike & iPad is jiggling.

I truly don’t know! Maybe I could determine their natural substrate, but they don‘t like much light & hide out. Cute, but thus far not a very exciting pet!

It actually depends on the size of the Ax. How big is yours?
