Hi. New to fish pets. My daughter has saved up and we have started an aquarium. We have a 36 gallon tan with some tetras and guppies. Water has been tested and all is well. The tetras have some white spots on them. Should we be worried? We have had them for three days. Picture attached. Please advise.

Picture of the whole tank. What are the fish in there. Do you have live plants. It looks like white spot or ICH to me. The treatment is easy you need to lift the tank temperature to 30 degrees C. Then leave it there for at least two weeks until the spots disappear.

30 deg C is 86 deg F for those who use that scale ;)

thanks. 3 live plants, 3 tetras, 5 guppies and 1 golden mystery snail.

I think it may be caused by stress, Judging that you have had them for a short time. Also it may be a sign that you don't have enough tetras in there with it. 3 tetras is not nearly enough, the minimum is 10 I would say and judging by the size of your aquarium you could have so many more than 10. But I think it looks like ich and you will want to treat it and quarantine it.
