Yes to the light question.Thanks for input both - hair algae given the pictures on the link Bruce supplied - but mine is brown.
So I am going to reduce my lighting to 7 hours (in total) - I use a fluval aquasky 2.0. set on "plant boost", sunrise 6-8 am - and then on 70% from 8am to 18.00hrs, and then sunset between 18.00 hrs and 19.00hrs and then just blues on 50% until 20.00 hrs.
So, far to much light - correct ?

I use cheap toothbrushes.In case of hair algae, your best friend to remove it is bottle-brush

Simply wrap hair algae around the brush.
Brush part is too small compared to bottle-brushI use cheap toothbrushes.
