What kind of Mollies are they?

I bought some balloon belly black and Dalmatian mollies. The black came already looking pregnant. So naturally I figured when I saw baby fry I thought they were hers. I put them in my 10g tank. Their doing great. The only problem I had was trying to figure out why they were not black. They were silver. this confused me because I expected them to be like mom ( Black Molly).

it’s been a good month now and to my surprise I’ve noticed they have spots!!! long story short; will their colors get better with development and age? They remind me of bait fish never mind the guppie in the back. I have her in her to rest.

They will continue to change and develop for a few weeks. I agree that black molly are adorable.

Bear in mind that the new pregnant molly can carry sperm to use for future batches of fry for up to a year, even without a male in the tank.

The female Dalmatian mollie died not after I took her fry out of the tank.

These are the babies. They only have the spots not the white back ground. They are ugly. There is no telling what kind male made these.
