How big is the fish?

Assuming it is not a hybrid, it is Glossolepis incisus.

The following link has all the known rainbowfishes from Australia and new Guinea.

Thanks. The store said red rainbow. Which I’ve been looking for forever. It seems to have red showing as it colors up. It’s tail is split so I’m hoping that heals. Male?

Male G. incisus go red and females do not have any red in them. the fish in the picture has a small amount of red in the fins but it is the wrong shade of red. This is why I mentioned hybrid. If it is a true species (not a hybrid), then it is a young male. However, females have the bronze colour and if it's a hybrid, the red in the fins could be from another species.

The best treatment for split fins is big regular water changes, gravel cleaning the substrate, and adding a bit of salt. You can add 1-2 heaped tablespoons of rock salt for every 20 litres of tank water. Keep salt in tank for 2 weeks.
