Fat, Sick or Pregnant Black Neon Tetra?

Hi All.
I have 5 black neon tetras in my tropical community tank and have had them for I’d like to say around 2 years. Tonight however I’ve noticed that this one appears a lot larger than it’s other friends (I’ll attach photos)

I just wanted to see what other people thought about it,
One is from behind, one is with comparison with another BNT (excuse the other photo-bombers please

)

Sorry! Can't be pregnant, but could be full of eggs. She's an egg layer, not a livebearer.

Tetras are hard to breed. But she could he eggbearing.

I consider being full of eggs as pregnant. For example, if a duck had eggs in it that it was going to lay, wouldn’t it still be pregnant?

She is definitely full off eggs, but I doubt she will actually lay them.

No. It would be ready to lay eggs.
Pregnant is an adjective meaning, “(of a woman or female animal) having a child or young developing in the uterus”.

I'd describe it as 'carrying eggs' I think. Or 'an egg' if it was the duck.

I’m not sure! Many years ago I used to have 3 chickens, they would lay eggs once they got to a certain age regardless of whether there was a male or not. The eggs are formed in an oviduct and released through a vent. A quick Google states that chickens will form one egg a day until they have produced a clutch of 12, removing the eggs daily keeps them laying. Fertilised eggs are not sat on until the perfect clutch or 12 are produced as the cooler temperature suspends the development of the embryo; once the 12 are laid the hens sits, raising the temperature and all 12 will hatch together.

Nature is a amazing - isn’t it..?

You can tell if the egg is fertilised by holding it up to the light…chickens don’t get pregnant and I think you’d have a very poorly bird if it was thin enough to see light through it…
