I have been having a problem with brown algae growing on my gravel, filter, plants, etc. Are there any strategies for removing this type of algae that will not harm my moss balls? Also, will my golden mystery snail eat this type of algae? I can start manual removal, but I'm afraid that won't be able to get all of it and it looks really ugly on the glass accents and white gravel.
I had to be away for a few weeks and the person who cared for my tank did not do water changes. If I restart regular water changes, will this issue resolve itself?
Regular weekly water changes-I do 50% a week, it depends on your stocking. If there are light stocked fish you could maybe get away with 20 or 30% a week and scheduled light should help, so should adding more live plants if you can. The algae on the glass can be easily removed with a scouring pad (never used for anything but the fish tank.) Your snail should help clean up the decor a little but the other three things will help a bit faster
