Looking for some inspiration! I have a 160l long waiting to be set up but I have no idea what to do with it! I'm liking rock and I'm getting into planted but I don't know what style to go for...I'd like a large school of diddy fish I think... Care to share what you have?

This is my only “long & shallow”, my 20g long:

It’s not very photogenic right now, but it’s getting there. ;)

I would disagree, I think it is rather photogenic! I love how the light comes through the floaters, very atmospheric! What's the plant in the right hand corner?

i dont have a full tank shot, but my messy old 15g
with my fav fish (currently dead now...)

Aww rip... Nice shot though

I think the one I've got is 4 foot.... So a fair bit of length to play with

That is Anubias barteri, very easy to grow, even under low light. :)

Other plants are:
  • Cryts
  • Vals
  • Anacharis
  • Java Fern
  • Java Moss
  • Anubias (reg. and nana petite)
  • Frogbit

Zooming in I saw it was anubias, it looks really good ??

OK, here's my current project. It's 3'/1m long. The water is about 6" deep. Betta imbellis, dwarf rasbora, blue goblinus rasbora, pond snails. Not appearing: a school of rather crepuscular but extremely cute zipper loaches. Still can't get this rice to grow robustly. Maybe it has to get bit before it can grow in water this deep. Might have to try sedges or something that will look close enough, but actually grow. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with how it's coming along.

You have some stunning plants in there! Beautiful tank ?

Thanks! I can't keep house plants alive to save my life, but I'm pretty good with aquatic stuff (probably because I can't forget to water it). This is all stuff that grows in Sumatra! Just need to get that "rice paddy" part going!

I would never in a million years ever think to start a rice paddy in my fish tank, if you can get it to work that's going to look amazing!
