  • Bottled Bacteria
  • Sand

I’m going to go ahead and setup the tank and then purchase the RO system.

woooow, do you have to set up a whole system of like a sump, very accurate measurements all the time, lights, and just a lot of stuff that is bigger than the tank?
i do not know a lot about saltwater, looking forward to hearing about it

Make sure there are no power sockets near the tank. Marine tanks tend to leave a bit of salt spray that can conduct electricity and give you a zap. Coverglass help to reduce this but just monitor any plugs and wipe them down regularly if they get any salt on them.

I don’t have a sump, I will use a HOB filter. (A Seachem Tidal 35)

Not sure what you mean by measurements... like parameters? Yes, I will be testing those very often.

Lights should come in today sometime.

What fish or shrimps do you plan to keep?
I would like to keep a pair of clownfish, a shrimp (probably a scarlet skunk or some other species), and maybe a goby.

Progress will start today!! Super pumped to finally be doing something with this tank.

All I need to do is finish cleaning the filter and then I’m all set.

Mixing the sand will be interesting, as it’s my first time doing so. I’m just glad I don’t have livestock yet, because I guarantee you my salinity is going to be off...

Anyway, back to the journal please. ;)

Started!

Light came in and I’m really impressed with it so far. It has a white/green, white/blue, and all blue setting:

Mixed the water just a tad bit salty. ?

I’ll do a full review on the light later.

Plan is to keep going and get this baby filled up! I will add less salt next time.
