Hi I just got an angelfish a week ago, I had 5 mollies but 3 of them were bullying the angel fish so I took them back to petstore, but now I’ve noticed this white film, like very very fine white dots that almost look like he has bubbles on him, or like a fuzzy appearance, I don’t think it’s ich since I’ve had to deal with that before but I’m thinking maybe velvet? But none of the pics I look up look like it, he’s also showing no symptoms and seems happy, no flicking against objects and is swimming fine, my 2 mollies don’t have the dots at all does anyone know what this is?(also the big white dots in the pictures look like they’re on him but they’re not, just bubbles :))

tank parameters pH 7.0, nitrites 0 nitrates 40 ammonia 0, gh 60 and kh 80, tank has been cycling for 3 months before adding fish, tank is 20 gal tall but planning on upgrading when angelfish gets bigger, temp is 81

Hi
From the photos it looks like your angelfish is stressed, this will make it susceptible to a wide range of diseases, fungus being the main cause if the fish has lost scales and has wounds. You could try a teaspoon of aquarium salt to 5 litres of water, it should help if not try using waterlife white spot and fungus treatment as well. I have used them both together and have had good results. I hope this will help to resolve the problem.
