so i got one of those guar gum frozen little cubes of blood worms,
any tips on using them (for cories and livebearers)

Depending on how many fish you have and the size of the tank. But normally I would feed one cube at a time. I take it from the freezer put it between my fingers in the tank and grind away, the worms will peel off the block, swell them through the water so everyone gets one.

Either drop a cube into the tank and let it float around while the fish eat it. Or use a pair of scissors and cut it up.

Make sure you wash your hands and the scissors with warm soapy water after handling bloodworms because they can carry some nasty bacteria that can cause problems if you touch your eyes, nose, mouth with the bloodworm juice on your fingers.

Some people also have allergic reactions to the bloodworms so monitor your skin for red areas or itchy skin after using it. If you don't have a reaction you should still wash with soapy water after handling them.

thanks. i have like 10 or 11 cories and a bunch of baby guppies and adult guppies, swordtails. is it bad for nerite ramshorn or mystery snail?

Melt the cube in a small container of tank water, then dump in...if it's in those sealed foil packets, you don't even need to touch the cube, push through the foil into the container

I agree with others here, except on the "frozen" issue I do recommend thawing the food (whatever it is) in a disk of warm water before adding the food to the tank. Always. I've no scientific data on the effects if any of frozen food, but since the fish never see this naturally, it only take a few seconds to thaw a cube or broken off piece in a sauce dish of warm tap water and this also makes feeding easier. I use a pipette made form some flexible air line tubing and a 20-inch or so piece of hard air tube. I can squirt the thawed food, be it daphnia (excellent food) or bloodworms, here and there and everyone gets the opportunity to feed.

Bloodworms should never be fed more than once each week, whatever fish. Daphnia is excellent for frozen healthy food, and shrimp, probably some others now.

There shouldn't be any white or grey bloodworms in the packet. If there is, then remove those and throw them in the bin. If there are lots then find another brand of bloodworms. Hikari were mean to be a good brand some years ago but not sure if they still are.
