What Plant is This?

Does anybody know what plant this could be? I had it brought home to me a month ago (to the day) without the little tag saying what it was. It was bought in a Maidenhead Aquatics shop, and seems to be fast growing with a fair amount of "branches" falling away and floating up to the top of the tank every few days. As a follow-up question, can I replant these stray bits that drop off?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anacharis?

Anacharis Plant Care, Leaves, Roots & Propagation

An Anacharis Plant is a good aquarium plant for beginner hobbyists. It's readily available in stores and is adaptable to a wide range of water conditions.

Ooh, could be. One other thing I was considering was elodea densa?

Could be....I had anacharis long ago, very messy with all of those branches breaking off...and the ones that didn't break off had all kind of detritus caught up in them...glad I got rid of it, lol

I'd love to switch up my plants, buuut... My arms are super short and it's kind of hard to reach down to the bottom of the tank. Especially now that my shrimp's made his dwellings in the plants. He scares me.

It's called Elodea densa* in the UK and anacharis in the USA. Two names, same plant

*edit - Maidenhead Aquatics website says

Egeria densa, formerly known as Elodea densa and often referred to as simply ‘Elodea’

It took me ages to work out what anacharis was. I was beginning to think it was a plant that was only sold in the US until it finally clicked that it was another name for elodea.

Water weed (Elodea densa). Fast growes. Provides oxygen. And does have a broad temperature range that you can keep at.

Nice! I've just given all my plants a quick trim (50 minutes - not exactly quick), and I put a few "shoots" of it in my 54L so I don't have to throw it all out.
