Was trying to start this journal months ago but just didnt materialize it ... but since today kinda of not a good start day I write it anyway.

Lost my lil Panda Molly today ... after it was being suck up to the filter intake , my bad I was trying to find what went wrong to my canister filter the night before and forgot to put back the original water intake cover.

Was doing it (taking out the intake cover) because my canister filter starts to make like gasses noise ... well more like gas passing noise but there is no leak what so ever. The water spray also was low compared to normal. Did the cleaning just 15 days ago and add in carbon filter in the canister bucket.

Today did the emergency maintenance ... and dismantle the canister ... yup through enough my baby Panda Molly well not actually a fry maybe teenager .. swimming inside the canister filter .

Cleaned my filter and put back Panda Molly to the tank .. it lasted around 4 or five hours since I wake up this morning its already rested at the bottom of my gravel. RIP

A moment of silence

If your filter is getting air in it, then it could be a damaged o-ring or rubber seal, or a loose connection. If you have an airstone in the tank, sometimes the airbubbles get sucked into the filter and slow the flow rate down.

Thanks Collin for the advice , yup I have already move my airstones away from my canister intake filter. I might think because of my heavily stock tank ... after 15 days I can already see both intake and outflow develop brownish stains within . Wonder if I leave uncleans for months ... ...

Anyways here is my Amazon Sword it is indeed a hardy plants and among the first plants that I get when I started on this new tank several years ago.

It is also Tiger Barb favorite resting place ... not all of the TIger Barbs but just this one ..

Did almost 80% water change yesterday, due to died Panda Molly .. today the water is clear as crystal , was milky cloudy yesterday right after the wc. Scrap all the algae / diatom on the aquarium wall .
Feeding mealworms for the community tank .. all seems normal

Today I only switch on the light its lights out even for the day time didnt want the algae issue making a come back .

Continuing to search for a second reliable filter ... HOB for more water turn over. Eyeing either FLuval or Eheim the search continues .

These two days my community tank will enjoy live worms .... well maybe for this week in particular .
