Male or female electric blue ram (pic)

Hi guys,

I got an electric blue ram a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if it’s a male or female. I think it’s a male but just wanted your guys opinions.

I'm not good with fish sex....but I'd guess male.

Probably a male. Females are a more lighter blue and don't have as much colour. Also( I'm not 100% on this ) but I think that the males have longer fins and the males have shorter.

Males have the extended rays at the front of the dorsal fin. So its a male

Cheers guys. His fins are really long like and the dorsal fin is pointed which led me to believe that it was a male. I have a female German blue aswel but she does have the extended find on the dorsal too ?‍

. Is this possible?

That's interesting, her dorsal fin is much shorter and rounded but she has the rays!!. Nice fish.

I know haha. Had her a few months she colours up really nice when feeding. Just crazy her dorsal is extended at the front haha

A bright marking either side of the black spot is a sure sign of a female ram.
Any sex can have long fins, especially if older.
