If you are sure it is a female, then yes. I would say she is. Anytime a female molly gets far fatter than she has ever been and looks extremely bloated but she acts relatively the same as she did before, she is likely pregnant. There is a lot of different opinions on this subject and I have tried two ways.

The one that DIDN'T work for me was separating my fish from her tank. I did that with a fish a long time ago and she became severely depressed and died about a week after her quarantine.

The option that did work for me was allowing her to just give birth in the tank. If you supply items that float at the top of the tank, the baby fry should make their way up there and stay hiding in those toys until they are big enough to hold their own.


You can also try to find some of the babies and put them in their own little tank with plants and rocks and a heater. But that sometimes doesn't always work since baby fry are sensitive to water changes which means it is difficult to change the water without stressing them out. I recommend purchasing a gravel vacuum if you don't' have one already and try to just use that to change the water. Keep an eye on the babies but understand it is very hard to keep all of the baby fry alive.
