Hello!
I have a dwarf gourami that is acting quite strange. It is in a 25gal tank with two mollies and one other dwarf gourami.

The gourami is laying on its side on the ground and against things. It does shoot up to the top but then floats back down. It doesn’t swim upright really. And it’s definitely discolored from when we got it. It’s head is darker in color and it’s not as vibrant. And we haven’t seen it eat or poop. We tried putting peas in the tank but it hasn’t been interested

We just tested everything, pH is 8.2 but all other levels were normal. We added salt 4 days ago to treat ich. And our salt dose is about one tsp per gal. Temperature is at 84 also to treat for ich. Looks like the ich has cleared up but we were told to keep the tank at this temp and with salt for a bit to make sure.

Its also worth mentioning that we discovered two Molly frys in the tank. We think the other fish are the rest of them. We didn’t realize our Molly was pregnant.

Does anyone of any idea of what is happening to our gourami? Or how to help it?

Any chance of a picture and short 60 second video of the fish?
If the pictures are too big for the website, set the camera's resolution to its lowest setting and take some more. The lower resolution will make the images smaller and they should fit on this website. Check the pictures on your pc and find a couple that are clear and show the problem, and post them here. Make sure you turn the camera's resolution back up after you have taken the pics otherwise all your pictures will be small.

If the video is too big for this website, post it on YouTube and copy & paste the link here. We can view it at YouTube. If you are using a mobile phone to take the video, have the phone horizontal so the video takes up the entire screen. If you have the phone vertical, you get video in the middle and black on either side.

Okay it attached two photos and a video link. One photo was taken shortly after we received the fish (so you know what it used to look like). Its hard to get a decent shot of it because it doesn't move much and kinda hides in the back of the tank. Let me know.

Salt doesn't treat white spot and you need to raise the water temperature to 30C (86F) if you want to kill the white spot parasites.

The white spots fall off the fish after a few days and sit in the gravel multiplying inside their little white cysts. A couple of days later these cysts open and release hundreds of new parasites to reinfect the fish. You need to keep the temperature high (86F) during this phase or the parasites don't die and the fish get covered in hundreds of them.

As for the gourami, it looks unwell and is really skinny. It could be getting bullied by another fish, or it has an internal problem, or a disease causing it to waste away.

Without seeing its poop, its hard to say but you could try feeding it more often. The extra food might help it. Possibly treat the fish for intestinal worms.

Have you got a picture of the other gourami in the tank?
If you have 2 male gouramis they will fight and this one could be the loser.
