Hi there,
Just got a bristlenose pleco about 4 days ago and noticed it growing (more?) bristles on one side of his face? Kindve white? Any ideas??
Healthy :)

Ok, so the white marks you are seeing is part of it's markings it looks like or it could be the substrate idk, but it looks like the beginning of a male bristlenose (BN) pleco!
 
Hi and welcome to the forum :)

The bristles sticking out the side of the face are normal and nothing to worry about. The fish will have them on both sides but don't always stick them out.

Make sure you have some driftwood in the tank for the fish to graze on. They need the wood to help their digestion.

Increase your lighting time a bit to encourage algae to grow on the glass and ornaments for the fish to eat. Feed the fish on other foods too.

Do regular water changes and gravel cleaning because bristlenose catfish produce a lot of poop.
