I found these small white things floating in my tank after about 5 hours of being away. I can not seem to find anything similar posted anywhere on the internet. I also can not find any possible source of these in the aquarium. Does anyone have any ideas?

What else lives in your aquarium and what size is it? What are your parameters? Can you post a picture of the whole tank? They could be eggs.

I don’t have up to date parameters at the moment. I’ll test them in the morning and post a full picture.

It’s a 60 gallon stocked with 1 angel, some black skirt tetras, neon tetras, 2 yoyo loaches, a common pleco, and a dwarf Cory.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Do they have a clear jelly blob over them?
If yes, they are snail eggs.

Touch them and see if they are hard or soft.

Thanks for the welcome.

They are quite small and have no noticeable jelly or eggs. They are not hard but seem best described as fluffy. I haven’t had much snail activity in a while now and can’t even recall the last snail I have seen in there.

Can you post a picture of the tank?

Have you got any plants next to the aquarium that might have dropped flowers in the tank?

Ok,
Ammonia is 0
Nitrite is 0
Nitrates are around 5
ph is around 7.7
Kh of 4
Gh is at 8. A bit higher than I would like.
The tank is closed and there is nothing near it that could drop into then water.

I want to thank you guys for taking the time to ask questions about my tank. I had another blast of these in the afternoon today and I found something I didn’t see before. They are most definitely seeds and wasn’t something I was ever expecting to see.

Your GH is fine for the fish you got.

Could they be broken down uneaten food collected in the tops of the plants?

Welcome to the forum.
I would like to help you but I don't have a clue.
