I have a 36” led light on my 55 gallon. I don’t understand the difference between the dimmer blue setting and the full brightness white setting. Supposedly one is for day and one is for night.

does this mean I can have the light in at all times, 12 hours of white during day and 12 hours of blue during night? Or is it best not to?

Anyone with expertise in lighting, I’d appreciate your input. Thanks!

The fish will need a period of darkness to rest so only have your lights on during the day.

Keep your white light on for around 8 to 12 hours then turn off at night so it mimic's a natural day and night cycle.

Id start around 10hrs then bring it down slowly if you find your getting alot of algae. I have mine on for 8hrs per day.

Blue lights are supposed to mimic moonlight and some fishkeepers have them on for an hour or 2 before lights go out. You tend to see blue lights more in saltwater set ups really. I dont bother with the blue lights myself :)
