No fish in it yet but these worms have collected on the wood.

You mention you don't have fish in the tank - do you think they came along into the tank from some of the decor you put in?

not from the plants or decor I boiled the wood and bathed the plants overnight in chemicals so there where no hitchhikers something must have flown in while the canopy was off.
