A place 4 my questions & ponderings as I build a 34 Gallons (127L) tank

Khaden is 7 and is helping with the tests and reading the results.
Charleigh-Lou is 4 and is upset she can't put the shells she collected from the shore into the tank.......
Very exciting for Khaden to be experimenting & learning about texting but that's a touch age (4) waiting for something! Can the shells not go in until after the cycle? Maybe a drawing competition/project might help - she could draw and design her tank layout

I believe they're mostly tropica plants so should be fine in transit, they're packaged to sit on shelves in self contained little pots.

I didn't use glue, I thought the branches had enough to hold them in place, so sort of stabbed and wrapped and it held when I checked it in the bucket of water.
I think I will order from them. Love their site layout keeping plants by category for tank layout! They've Xmas moss too - woohoo

At this point it'd probably be easier to just open my open shop  found a place in UK that delivers to Ireland - for nearly £20 delivery  guess I'll just keep looking. That's way too many plants I could be buying spent on delivery charge :hyper:

Can your LFS not order what you want?
No. They said they're from being it hard to get any moss at all from the suppliers. I actually ordered Xmas moss from another Irish stores and they sent me wrong moss as substitute. I might call the place that made my tank hood & see can they order Xmas moss in. Their delivery is €7 which is much better.

I think all suppliers are having issues, very little live plants in the 4 stores I ican get to.
Yeah I rang Seahorse & they said they've no idea what they can get. They order moss & it's just not in stock.

Got my last batch of plants from these, doesn't say in the link how much it'd be, spose you'd have to enquire

£14/£15. I'll keep looking or switch to java Moss. Most of the plants are looking well. Really like how the lagandra is standing up. And the Echinodorus is turning red. There are new shoots on the Limnophila though they might have been budding when added. But the Cryptocoryne Beckettii 'Petchii' isn't doing great. It seperated when I was cleaning so maybe needs to be bunched up :/

Think you're just experiencing crypt melt. Shove some root tabs under it, it'll grow back! Even if there's nothing left but roots, it'll come back. I've grown crypts from nothing but roots before:)
DSCF2038.JPG

See the dark green/reddish crypt at the front left? And more on the front right? Those are just parts of a crypt I grew from nothing but some roots from a long neglected, algae covered tank, there's a much bigger main plant hidden behind the rock here, they're just new plants it produced in less than a year. Crypts are hardy things, they comeback:)

Cool, they are seperated but could space out more if needed. I've root tabs in beside every group of plant. 10 in total, but might need more certainly if adding more plants

I think I need more plants. I've given up trying to get Xmas moss. Only stock is in UK with £15-£20 delivery.

So I'm gonna stick to the stock from the good fish shop I've used - Seahorse Aquarium. The triangle moss has a similar look to Xmas so I'll order about 5/6 to finish the bonsai tree.

Looking at their other plants stock - is there anything you'd avoid? I won't be using CO2 & want pretty low maintenance plants & some fast growing to help my cycle along. My lone snail seems to be ok :)
