My betta must be in nesting mode

I started watching my betta yesterday and he kept going to the top of the surface and I thought maybe I need it to turn the air stone on again cuz I just turned it on periodically using the filter is agitation to then I realized he was building a nest I need to try to get a female for him

You can't put a female and a male in the same tank though. They would kill each other.
Building a bubble nest doesn't mean that he wants to breed. It just means that he's happy and healthy.

I agree. Male and female bettas should not be kept together. People who breed them have to condition both fish separately and they are only in the same tank for the duration of spawning, then the female is removed straight away once spawning has finished.
