Blood Parrot or Sorority OR???? Decisions Decisions

Okay good to know. The only one I’m really wanting to keep for sure in there is the BNs. Are EBAs solo or do they do better in a group (I’ve heard Rams like a few buddies, but each cichlid species is different).
I'm pretty sure you don't have room for more than one. They get like 6 inches long tops.

If the water does turn out to be on the hard side, how about rainbowfish? Would need to be the smaller species for a 30 gallon and I can't suggest specific species, I'm just also in a hard water area and plan to have rainbowfish when I have a large enough tank. They'd provide plenty of colour and action.

So I realized I only grabbed PH strips, but here is a start. This is the PH of the water after treatment that I would be putting in. I’ll be filling it throughout the day tomorrow. Filter media and sand is being kept under water and aerated.

Can I ask what you mean by filtered water? Do you use a water softener, and if so, what type?
I wish. It this point t it’s just filtered through my Brita. Probably doesn’t do much but make me feel a little better lol! I’ll have to see if I can get a water hardness test kit.

Okay, I got 6in1 test strips and was able to measure hardness. It’s measuring as hard (I think the area runs about 128ppm hardness). This is the conditioned water before adding to the tank.
