Already have 12 paleatus and I'm looking to increase the overall cory population in the tank to 20. I'm fine with another 8 peppered but my son would like some variety. Any recommendations are much appreciated.
Temp 22C
GH 5.7
PH 7.7
52 gallon (fluval roma 200)

btw I'm not into bronze or albino

Thank you

Do you know what your KH is? I’d stay away from Panda’s, even as cute as they are. I’ve learned they are not very hardy. They have been inbred to keep up with the demand in popularity. I wonder if the saddle backs are the same way? They are cute!

This is gorgeous. Wish I had some. Venezuelan Red Sailfin. Look on EBay.

I really don't  thought I had quite a comprehensive report from the water board (severn trent), but can't see anything to do with KH..?

UK water companies don't usually give KH and if they do they call it alkalinity.
KH is not as important as GH. KH only affects fish indirectly by stabilising pH. The natural tendency of a fish tank is to become acidic, but KH resists that change; it buffers the water. Where KH is very low it gets used up and pH can fall. But large weekly water changes replenish the KH and help keep pH stable. High KH keeps the pH very stable, and attempts to alter pH will fail with high KH.
it doesn't really matter if you don't know your KH. If your pH remains stable - with just a small diurnal fluctuation - you KH is high enough. And by high enough I mean 3 dH or above.

Corydoras weitzmani (two-saddled corydoras) are a beautiful, colorful alternative to pandas, i find them fairly hardy, though wild caught can transition poorly (thats standard with many wild caught cories though).

I highly, highly recommend weitzmani!

Downside would be their price tag, not an overly cheap corydoras.

A plant loving corydoras though with a decent price...

"Black" corydoras Schultzei (also called corydoras Venezuela black)

Yes! and yes! Nice one NC

By the way, the Leopard looks quite similar to Sterbai Corydoras.
But I prefer Leopard as it's smaller.
I don't like Corydoras that are too big as they lose their cuteness....LOL

Some videos for you..

Just got back from LFS, with some Odessa Barbs, but that's a different story.

They did have all sorts of corys though.. but I could do with a lottery win if I'm to get any anytime soon
Check out some of these prices.. green gold not a bad price actually.

Do you have any privately owned local fish stores near you? I know my LFS is so much cheaper than Maidenhead. I bought panda cories when I brand new and didn't know better for £2-3 pounds each from my LFS, and Maidenhead had them for £10 each
