I added a mopani root and driftwood to my tank. Just spotted the two female Bristlenose Plecos on the mopani root all cosy

Bristlenose? I'm sure those are Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus juveniles. The common name would be gold spot common plecos. They can get up to a foot long, though many I've seen are around 8 inches.

yeah the body shape and pattern are quite different, not bristlenose.

But if bought for BN prices, you got a deal haha

Omg @essjay is there a contest for worst LFS?!

Your pleco.

Lovely fish, but for two you are definitely going to need a tank over 150 gallons, especially since adults get territorial.

He told me both these were Bristlenose and both fine in a 58L. So I found out the tank size wasn't suitable and I've been tryna find a way to fit a bigger tank.

I saw @seangee has a 36 inch x 12 x 12 tank and this size will fit my counter top. But 150 gallons?!? That's huge! :/ frack. I can't keep these :'(

The good news, you could sell them much higher price than what you paid, given they're not nearly as common as true bristlenose.

Its a shame as theyre beautiful! You could possibly opt for 100g for ONE, but not for both, if you wanted to still keep one for yourself.

100 gallon us still too big. The space will take 35 in x 12 x 12 so that's only 22 US gallons. I'm so upset. I really love them. I don't even think ppl buy fish from private seller here. I kinda wanna go kill the LFS guy.

Sorry for spamalot pics but I think you guys are right. And I'm a little bit devasted.

:-( I think my best option is to call the Aquarium as they take donations. It'll be tricky to get it there. 2.5 hr drive. The LFS said they'd take them back before but like they'll only sell to someone without tank size advice & I'd prefer them to have space they need & be happy.
