Hi guys

Hope all is well?!

I have noticed on a few of the red girls that they have this white ring around their waist area? They look to have eggs in the ovaries and maybe it’s due them about to berry well I am hoping so or is this a sign of molting issues? I did see a male go and jump on one of the girls and fossick around on her so maybe transferring his sperm but I’m not sure!? Geezz I am so protective of these little guys since everything that happen, just want to make sure I’m not overreacting.

I’ve had white rings a few times, it seems to be the start of the moult. It’s only when they were visibly tighter around the shrimp that I thought it was a problem? I’ve lost a few shrimp over time but none of them appeared to be due to moulting. Do you do anything to boost calcium, spinach or crushed eggshells have worked for me in the past. The tadpole snails liked them too though!

I only got them the other day so I’d say it’s from the previous owner. I have crushed coral and cuttlefish bone in my tank as I have snails too. They seem happy, are eating fine and swimming around perfectly. I just don’t want to go through losing my shrimp again

This also miht depend on how hard your water is. My cherries have this ring around them but they always are fine and no problems with molting.
Watch them closely and see if any die with ring on them, feed the lots of kale too.

Oh they are spoiled as anything with the good stuff. Like I said they are active and happy as well as eating fine. I got them like this but have never had this issue. It is probably me just over reacting, but I would rather do that then have it be and think seriously and not picked it up before. Thank you my darling

So I have got home and had a good look in the sunlight and it looks like she will be molting any day now. The white is her eggs in the ovaries so I think she will be berried in a few days! Not a good photo but you can see what I mean

Cute shrimpy  I had some berried ones, but they no longer are and no shrimplets. I think I'd have to buy some you shrimps and start again :/

I just found my little yellow girl had berried today. And it looks like she’s double berried

You are all very lucky. Every time mine have been berried they have dropped their eggs.

I actually witnessed one of my other girls saddling today. It was an interesting watch. My yellow girl is doing so well with how berried she is. I am sure you will have luck with yours
