Very nice Discus elgecko.... :kewlpics: How big are they now???, I'm glad to see you still have all your discus...I lost almost everybody, all I have now is my Ocean green and a redturq(which right now is acting up and not eating) :( I lost 4 discus since I started.... However my OC seems to be bullet proof since he/she doesn't seem to get sick even though everybody else is....Very nice PB's....

Thanks for the comments.

Vip,
I have 5 discus.

G_Sharky,
Sorry to hear of your dicus losses. Did you have your discus long? It seems to me that when you first get discus you have to treat them with meds. They have weak immune systems and usually get sick right after travel to your tanks. Well my trip was a 2 hour drive to the breeder, which might have been part of the problem. I had 3 of my 5 discus get sick after I got them home. Once I used Paragon to treat the fish they acted normal.
I've had these fish 7 months now. Keeping discus for 9 months total, since I bought 2 stunted fish store fish to see if I could keep them alive before going to a breeder and getting nice fish. They range from 4 1/2" to just over 5". Once you get them settled into your tank and get past the first month or two after med treatment, discus are fairly tough fish.

They SURE DO look awesome!!

Discus were the first fish I wanted until I got the the LFS and they said that I couldn't keep them with anything else so I was like......hmmmph!!! (need the hands crossed in front of chest and pouting smiley here mods) :p

They are so beautiful Elgecko. I sure envy you and your fish!!!

Thanks again for the comments.

silver,
You can have other fish with discus, as long as you choose very wisely. But it is best to keep discus be them selves. There immune system is weaker then other fish, and they can pass illnesses onto the discus.
