First I would like to say that this board is awesome!! I wish I had found it a few months ago, when my tank was having problems.

Anyway, things have settled, and I have a small population in my 20 Gallon tank..... 4 Danios, 2 Zebras, 3 Snails, 2 Harlequin rasboras, and this one long guy who is usually floating at the top. I got him because I saw him in the same tank with the Danios so I figured it would not be a problem. For the most part it had not been until yesterday.

Rasboras are supposed to be a hardy fish, so I added about six to my tank a month or so ago. I had my first Ick incident right after, and I lost four of them before I stabilized the tank. I come home yesterday, and this unidentified fish has the LIVE Rasbora in his mouth. The Rasbora must have put up a fight, because he is now out of his mouth, and swimming around the tank. He is slightly scarred, but a trooper.

My question is....WHAT KIND OF FISH IS THIS? It seems to be a little too aggressive for my current tank.

He/she is too inches long and about 1/2 inch high, and maybe 1/4 inch thick. Let me see if this forum will allow me to post a clearer picture.

This is Colin BC's killifish. if this is what you have then yes, he will eat anything that will fit in his mouth and is an active preditor.

I think Sir is right!! The Rasbora could barely fit in his mouth, and he was just jamming him in there!! Here is another shot of him. Pretty looking fish, but not good for my tank. Could you guys please give me some suggestions as to what I can put in my tank? I have tried Dwarf Gouramies, but they seem too meek, and easily stressed. Right now, without the Kilifish, I have the 4 G. Gouramies which are all about 2 inches or so long, 2 Zebra Danios, the 2 Harlequin Rasboras, and the 3 Snails. I am desperatly in need of some color. Perhaps more Rasboras?? Maybe some stronger Gouramies? My tank is a 20 gallon long.

Yes he is quite the preditor and he will eat everything he can fit into his mouth..I had me two of them I thought they was so pretty because of the orange around thier tail fins..Boy did I ever find out different. I took them staight back to the lfs and traded them straight in for some danios...

I got me two Kissing Gouramies for the price of one Kilifish. I also got a few more Harlequin Rasboras. Hopefully, all the fish will get along fine.

Thanks for all the help!

Adam
