Yesterday I put in a air stone to avoid any dead spots in my tank. I upgraded to a larger 200L tank and he’s become obsessed with the air bubbles! He’s never been so active while the light is on. Usually comes out now and then now spends 90% of the time playing in the air bubbles.

I believe black ghost knife fish need a bigger tank than 200 L. Did you just put the airstones? BGK need a lot of oxygen and need at least 1 airstone or they will gasping for air on top of the water

He’s been in my 130L tank for 2 years. I just upgraded to the 200L/ 4foot yesterday. I’ve also got a canister filter with the spray bar which provides a lot of water movement. Ive never has any of my fish gasping for air and haven’t had any fish deaths for over 2 years now so oxygen isn’t an issue. Would’ve loved to get a bigger tank but my budget can only go so far haha.

Black ghosts need a much much bigger tank. Well over 100 gallons let alone 200 liters
