Had visit this afternoon...

A friend of mine who's keeping fish as well texted me if I was at home. He wanted to have a trio of blonde guppies. No problem, I've said. So, he came over and asked if it would be a problem to watch my tanks again. For he wasn't sure if I would let people come in the house because of the COVID-19 situation. As long as we keep a distance between us, it would be okay. When he texted me, he said he'd only pick them up at the door. Well, that short planned moment became 2 hours. He left with a trio of blonde high end ritz guppies.

A bit hard to see in the bag. But below you can see how they look like. Got them grey and blonde based.

The swords of the males will become longer.

They remind me of Mosquitoes fish. Do you keep Mosquitoe fish? I used to keep wild ones, before I had to move.

We are opening up here, still keeping safe distance but many businesses are open again. I went on a shopping spree yesterday. Went to a hardware store, video store, Picked up 3-5 gallon jugs of R O water for my fish, stopped by Petco and bought 3 ferns and an amazon sword plant. I went to the LFS and picked up 2 neon and a glow light tetra. I was thinking of you so I also picked up a pair of fancy guppies and they threw in another fee female. It feels good to be free again but must stay safe.

Seriously? Do they remind you of mosquito fish? I don't see it...
But yes, I've kept mosquito fish as well. Both Gambusia affinis and Gambusia holbrooki. But not anymore...

Really nice looking fish, great colors. I really did not look at guppies that much before you started posting pictures of your fish. To me they were a cheap fish (feeder guppies) that help me silent cycle my tank before I put something more expensive in it. My bother-in-law used them to feed his fish (feeder guppies) or to keep my RES turtles company. Now I am taking them more seriously as a fish to have in my LOTR tank. I have it set up for my 9 month old granddaughter. Yesterday was the first time she saw it. She likes to look at the fish and with their colors and big tails the fancy guppies get her interest.
